Mit vielen vielen Menschen haben wir gemeinsam am 1.Mai den MAYDAY begangen. An die 4000 waren gemeinsam unterwegs, um f\u00fcr ein „Recht auf Stadt“ gegen prek\u00e4re Arbeitsverh\u00e4ltnisse und f\u00fcr ein gutes Leben f\u00fcr Alle zu demonstrieren. Die Mitschnitte der vielen Redebeitr\u00e4ge werden in den n\u00e4chsten Tagen online gehen und es wird mit etwas Abstand noch ein l\u00e4ngeres Statement nach einer Nachbesprechung folgen.<\/p>\n
Viele Gruppen boten in ihren Reden unterschiedliche Blickwinkel auf das \u201eRecht auf Stadt\u201d und das \u201eGute Leben f\u00fcr Alle\u201d:<\/p>\n
Das B\u00fcndnis Zwangsr\u00e4umungen Verhindern thematisierte aus aktivistischer Perspektive das Recht auf Stadt. Die Initiative Sommerpaket ging auf die prek\u00e4re Situation von wohnungslosen Menschen und der fehlende Raum f\u00fcr diese ein. Der Kampf um Klimagerechtigkeit bringt Aktivist_innen und Busfahrer_innen unter dem Slogan \u201ewir fahren gemeinsam\u201d zusammen. Die IG 24 thematisierte die prek\u00e4ren Arbeitsbedingungen und Organisierung der 24h Betreuer_innen. Von den Hausbesetzer_innen der Harmoniegasse, ein Haus, das perfiderweise am 1. Mai zur\u00fcck in den \u00fcberwiegenden Leerstand ger\u00e4umt wurde, wurde von den Erfahrungen der Besetzung und der Geschichte des Hauses, das der Stadt Wien geh\u00f6rt, erz\u00e4hlt. Selbstorganisation und Obdachlosigkeit war ebenso ein Thema wie die politische Arbeit des KSV-LiLi. Die Plattform Radikale Linke ging auf die Gefahr verk\u00fcrzter Kapitalismuskritik ein. SOS Balkanroute thematisierte einmal mehr die menschenfeindliche Grenzpolitik sowie den solidarischen Aktivismus gegen diese Zust\u00e4nde. Asyl in Not sprach neben dem Gasterabeiterabkommen auch \u00fcber Mord an Marcus Omofuma vor 25 Jahren. Das Riders Collective machte auf schlechte und prek\u00e4re Arbeitsbedingungen in der Gig-economy und durch \u201eflexible\u201c unsichere Vertr\u00e4ge in Scheinselbst\u00e4ndigkeit bei Fahrradbot_innen aufmerksam. Abschlie\u00dfend wurde von 4lthangrund nochmals die Notwendigkeit kollektiver R\u00e4ume und eines solidarischen Miteinander gegen neoliberale, kapitalistische, rassistische und sexistische Zust\u00e4nde thematisiert.<\/p>\n
Bei der Demo selbst gab es zahlreiche Bl\u00f6cke und Gruppen. Nach einem lautstarken ersten Block, der verschiedenste Themen rund um Recht auf Stadt aufmerksam machte, folgten u.a. auch ein Kinderblock. Die Demo endete mit den Clubworkers, die sich gemeinsam gegen schlechte Arbeitsbedingungen in der Club- und Nachtkultur organisieren. <\/p>\n
Wir wollen Danke sagen an alle, die sich in so vielf\u00e4ltiger und ausdrucksstarker Form beteiligt haben.<\/p>\n
Wir m\u00fcssen an dieser Stelle aber leider auch bereits jetzt auf das ungute St\u00f6rverhalten einiger Gruppen eingehen. Der Funke (eine Struktur die wir zuvor explizit ausgeladen hatten) hat es f\u00fcr n\u00f6tig befunden, aufzukreuzen. W\u00e4hrend sich also 3 von 4 ausgeladenen Strukturen auch an unseren Demokonsens gehalten haben, schafft der Funke das erneut nicht und best\u00e4tigt damit die Richtigkeit seiner Ausladung. Wie auch zuletzt am 8. M\u00e4rz kam es dabei zu \u00dcbergriffen, Provokationen und (k\u00f6rperlichen) Angriffen. Unsere Ordner_innen wurden abgefilmt, geschlagen und ihnen wurde mit Anzeige gedroht. Nur durch besonnenes Verhalten konnten unsere Ordner_innen eine Eskalation oder ein Einschreiten der Polizei trotz wiederholter Provokationen verhindern.Wir finden es bedauerlich, dass einige Gruppen, die nicht ausgeladen waren und sich auch an den Demokonsens gehalten hatten, wie die RSO, Revolution und der AST, sich zu der ausgeladenen Gruppe stellten und ebenfalls unsere Ordner_innen bedr\u00e4ngten, w\u00e4hrend ein Gro\u00dfteil der Demonstration kraftvoll und mit Freude stattgefunden hat.
\nEs ist weiterhin richtig, autorit\u00e4re Kaderstrukturen, f\u00fcr die Konsens und Demonkonsens Fremdw\u00f6rter sind und die, wie uns ehemalige Mitglieder berichten, weiterhin T\u00e4ter und \u00fcbergriffige M\u00e4nner in ihren Strukturen als F\u00fchrungskader dulden, von der alternativen MayDay auszuladen.
\nDass diese Gruppe au\u00dferdem, w\u00e4hrend wir als antisemitismuskritische Demonstration durch den traditionell j\u00fcdisch gepr\u00e4gten 2. Bezirk zogen, durch ihre Demoparolen neben der Demo stehende j\u00fcdische Personen in Angst versetzt haben, sodass diese ihre Kippa abnehmen mussten, sollte jede sich mit ihnen gemein machende Organisation erneut zum Umdenken bewegen.
\nWir gehen davon aus, dass es von diesen Gruppen in den n\u00e4chsten Tagen wie bereits in der Vergangenheit zu einer T\u00e4ter-Opfer-Umkehr Rhetorik und einer Inszenierung dieser Gruppen kommen wird.<\/p>\n

We celebrated MAYDAY together with many, many people on 1 May. Around 4,000 people took to the streets to demonstrate for the „right to the city“ against precarious working conditions and for a good life for all. The recordings of the many speeches will go online in the next few days and a longer statement will follow after a debriefing.<\/p>\n
In their speeches, many groups offered different perspectives on the „right to the city“ and the „good life for all“:<\/p>\n
The Alliance Preventing Forced Evictions (B\u00fcndnis Zwangsr\u00e4umungen Verhindern) addressed the right to the city from an activist perspective. The Sommerpaket initiative addressed the precarious situation of homeless people and the lack of space for them. The fight for climate justice brought activists and bus drivers together under the slogan „we drive together“ ( \u201ewir fahren gemeinsam\u201d). IG 24 addressed the precarious working conditions and organisation of 24-hour care workers. The squatters of Harmoniegasse, a building that was perfidiously evicted on 1 May and returned to predominantly vacant status, talked about their experiences of squatting and the history of the building, which belongs to the City of Vienna. Self-organization and homelessness were just as much a topic as the political work of the KSV-LiLi. The Platform Radical Left (Plattform Radikale Linke) addressed the danger of criticizing capitalism in a simplistic way. SOS Balkanroute once again addressed inhumane border policies and solidarity-based activism against these conditions. Asyl in Not spoke not only about the Gasterabeiterabkommen but also about the murder of Marcus Omofuma 25 years ago. The Riders Collective drew attention to poor and precarious working conditions in the gig economy and „flexible“ insecure contracts in bogus self-employment for bicycle messengers. Finally, 4lthangrund once again emphasized the need for collective spaces and solidarity against neoliberal, capitalist, racist and sexist conditions.<\/p>\n
There were numerous blocks and groups at the demonstration itself. After a loud first block, which drew attention to a wide range of topics relating to the right to the city, there was also a children’s block. The demo ended with the club workers, who are organizing together against poor working conditions in club and nightlife culture. <\/p>\n
We would like to say thank you to everyone who took part in such a diverse and expressive way.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, we must also take this opportunity to address the unpleasant, disruptive behavior of some groups. The Funke (a structure that we had previously explicitly uninvited) found it necessary to turn up. So while 3 of the 4 structures that had been explicitly uninvited followed our demo consensus, Funke once again failed to do so, thus confirming the correctness of this decision. As was the case on 8 March, there were assaults, provocations and (physical) attacks. Our stewards were filmed, beaten and threatened with prosecution. Our stewards were only able to prevent an escalation or police intervention through calm behaviour despite repeated provocations, and we find it regrettable that some groups that had not been uninvited and had also adhered to the demo consensus, such as the RSO, Revolution and the AST, joined the uninvited group and also harassed our stewards, while the majority of the demonstration took place vigorously and with joy.
\nIt is still right to disinvite authoritarian cadre structures, for whom consensus and demonstration consensus are unknown words and who, as former members tell us, continue to tolerate perpetrators and abusive men in their structures as leaders, from the alternative MayDay.
\nThe fact that this group, while we were marching through the traditionally Jewish 2nd district as a demonstration critical of anti-Semitism, also frightened Jewish people standing next to the demonstration with their demo slogans, so that they had to take off their kippahs, should make any organization that makes common cause with them think again. <\/p>\n
